This month we spoke to Rachael about her role as Content Marketing Executive at The Accountancy Partnership!

Hey Rachael, what is your job title?

I’m a Content Marketing Executive!

Give an overview of the duties, functions, and responsibilities of your job.

My role is to write content such as blogs, pages, and guides, across our sites. Tax, and business in general, can be a really difficult topic so it’s my job to make it easier to understand, whether it’s discussing the taxes a sole trader needs to pay or tips on how to become a company director!

What is a typical working day like for you?

I’ll check the content calendar each day to see which blogs are due and when, research the topic, complete the content framework, and then write it up for the deadline – while also ensuring blogs written by our freelancers have been added to the site.

What particular challenges do you regularly encounter?

I started this role with very basic knowledge about taxes and the world of HMRC, so ensuring everything I write is correct is crucial. Thankfully we have our lovely accountants who can fact-check anything we’re stuck on and guide us in the right direction!

What is your favourite part of the job?

I love writing – as well as the smoothies on Tuesdays and Fridays!

What do you like most about working for The Accountancy Partnership?

Everyone is lovely – the marketing team are very welcoming and a great support.

What skills do you find most useful to do your job?

Researching is a huge part of the job, so the ability to crawl the web and find the right information is crucial.

Where’s your favourite place to visit on days off?

Leaf on bold street for an Earl Grey latte, followed by a walk along the docks with my fiancé and family!

Outside of Liverpool/England, it has to be the South of France 😎

Tell us about your proudest achievement.

During university I created my own magazine called ‘Liverpool: Look Closer’, which showcased local talent from poets to prose writers. It sold in Liverpool’s oldest bookstore News from Nowhere and all the money went to Whitechapel who help the city’s homeless.

How would your colleagues describe you?

Erm, hopefully friendly and happy! 😀

What are you reading/binge-watching at the moment?

Obsessed with reading and watching anything Bridgerton! Queen Charlotte made me cry.

Who do you admire, and why?

I’ve always admired David Attenborough – everything he’s done to raise awareness for the planet is incredible! 🐢
